The City of Spearman is excited to announce the Utility Bill Angel Tree is up at City Hall. The Angel Tree offers the opportunity for community members to bless individuals and families in need by anonymously paying all or a portion of their monthly utility bill during the month of December.
Angels will be placed on the tree beginning December 2nd and will stay up the entire month of December. To participate, simply drop by City Hall and select an angel ornament off of the tree in the lobby. Take the angel to one of the Utilities Clerks and they will assist you with making the payment from there. You are welcome to pay a utility bill in full or just pay whatever amount you feel comfortable with. If you pay an amount other than the full bill, the angel will be placed back on the tree until it is paid in full. This process is completely anonymous for both the customer account associated with the angel and the individual who adopts an angel from the tree. The only information that will be shared is the balance due for the utility bill, nothing else.
We understand that this time of year can be very difficult financially for many in the community, especially in today’s world. It is well known how giving the Spearman Community is, and we are excited to have this project come together to offer another way to help members of our community.
We would also like to remind everyone that you are welcome to “Secret Santa” a specific account if you feel led to do so. That option is always available year-round and we have many generous citizens who perform random acts of kindness throughout the year by paying random accounts of single mothers/fathers, fixed-income senior citizens, chronically ill individuals and others!
