Paxton Heckman - Spearman Fire Chief - May 2, 2024
We have a couple of announcements this afternoon. First we would like to announce the retirement of Chief Roger Close. Chief Close's service to the fire departments started in 1996. Chief Close worked his way up the ladder in the department and was first elected Chief in 2013. He has proudly served as Chief of the department for the last 11 years.
Throughout his 28 year career, Chief Close had many accomplishments. We know that one of his favorites was the purchase of Engine 1 and it still remains his pride and joy.
Chief Close is planning to use his new found spare time enjoying his grandchildren, getting out to those favorite hunting spots of his and knowing that he has helped advance the fire department to where it is today. The members and officers of the Spearman Fire Department wish Chief Close a well earned retirement and there will always be an open door for him at the fire station.
Our second announcement: At our business meeting held last Thursday, several officers were elected. The following members were elected to these positions:

Jessica Herndon - Captain
Christina Dettmer - Captain
James Ansel - Captain
Matt Diaz, Engineer
Anne Marie Diaz, Vice President
